I love first aid kits. I'm a nurse, and I love first aid kits. I want to buy every kit I see! While I'm confessing, I should also admit that I just love bags, cases, and totes anyway. It doesn't matter if they have zippers, magnets, ties, snaps, or Velcro. I am always on the lookout for a new cute storage bag.
Well, awhile back, I found a red zippered first aid kit at Target. Well, actually, it was just the empty case, but it was free with the purchase of some first aid supplies. (Like I need a reason to buy more first aid supplies?) Anyway, "first aid + freebies = joy" so I snatched it up.
Then today a friend told me that Target has them again, and she bought one to use for her art-on-the-go supplies! She is just now starting to launch her traveling-artist-blogger series, and this will be handy for her. (Her contact info is at the bottom of the blog.)
Anyway, that's all the info I needed -- I was off to Target within a couple of hours. Mine didn't have the multi-colored version that her Target had, but still. . . . . . it's a first aid kit, so I love it. It's a red vinyl zippered case, with a light silver-gray reflective cross in the center.
I would have prefered to not have the cross, since this is going to be an arts and crafts case, so I had to do the next best thing -- customize it with adhesive vinyl!
I used my Silhouette Design Studio to type out the word ART, but turned the "R" into "Rx" -- after all, this is "art therapy," right?
The inside of the case looks like this. On the right side, the papers are 8.5 X 5.5" and fit, though I would recommend using papers that are no longer than 8.25" long.
I just typed out the ARxT in the Design Studio, but if you'd like to have a ready made copy, you can click the image to the left, and select "download."
The files are the PNG as pictured, plus the studio and SVG files.
So keep your eye out for cute little cases for all your art-on-the-go projects!
Blessings,
~Lolly
